Welcome to Sommerville

Welcome to the Sommerville website. Sommerville is not just an educational facility, but an ‘approach’ that meets the needs of a group of very special students.

At Sommerville, students can expect to be supported in their personal, social, emotional and educational growth by participating in personalised learning programmes.

We are committed to sharing our students educational pathway with parents and families. At Sommerville parents can expect to be listened to and included in the very important educational and personal milestones of their child. Our approaches and programmes will help families to feel connected and empowered.

My colleagues at Sommerville can expect to be supported to reach a very high level of skill needed to be effective in our environment.

Our holistic approach has led us to choose ‘Sommerville…more than a school’ as our motto.

Specialist Services

Our specialists at Sommerville work with individual students, class groups and teachers to ensure every student gets what they need to grow and meet their potential. Our team is made up of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Behavioural psychologists and specialists, Visual and Hearing Impaired specialists who have a team approach to achieve success for our students.

Choosing and enrolling in a school for children with special needs can be a difficult and confusing process. We work closely with families to help them complete the process as easy as possible and to understand the differences that they may be eligible for when enrolled with us. Parents can book in to see one of our senior managers who will answer any questions and let you know where your child may be if they attend Sommerville.
