Sommerville has a specialised therapy team to help Xavier with his speech, focus, consentration and behavior as well as attitude towards teachers his peers and family. In the time Xavier has been with the Sommerville satellite he has improved in everything that we have stated for him with the help of his teachers and the learning they have taught him We are all very thankful for Sommerville for helping us achieve the goals we set for him to help him thrive in his abilities Thank you again to the team for all the help we look forward to all the upcoming events with Sommerville. 

Our 9-year-old son, Tumahana William, is so happy at Sommerville School, and we are deeply grateful for his lovely teachers who celebrate his daily progress through the wonderful pictures and videos they share with us. The school has provided strong support for my son, both academically and emotionally. The staff are attentive to his individual needs and work closely with us as parents to ensure he is well supported. We value the inclusive and caring environment the school promotes.

When our boy was first diagnosed and we needed to enrol him into a special needs school we heard so many good things about Sommerville and now we know why. It’s a fantastic school with an empathetic team of teachers and specialists that genuinely want to see our kids thrive and become the best version of themselves. 

When we realised mainstream schooling wasn’t the right fit for Oscar who was 7 at the time, the thought of transitioning to a special needs school felt overwhelming. The Sommerville team met us with genuine care and support, making the transition seamless and stress-free. Oscar is now thriving in his satellite classroom. Best decision ever! 

My entire family are grateful to the school staff for all their hard work and love to support my children on the daily basis. The children enjoy their time at school doing all interesting activities and trying their best to mix and mingle with other children in their classroom. I hope they become more involved in programs and learning to become independent in their lives as much as possible. Once again I would like to thank all the staff of Sommerville school for all their support and encouragement that they have been giving to my children everyday. 

As an autism mum Sommerville has helped my child go through different stages of life from his own point of view. We are truly grateful that Sommerville is a special place for children like my son to attend as it is a space our children feel comfortable attending. 

We’ve had such a positive experience with Sommerville, and it’s been amazing to see the genuine care and support Tafara receives from the staff. It’s a truly nurturing environment where he feels safe and encouraged, and we’ve seen his confidence and development grow so much thanks to the incredible team.
